The Story

Born in NYC, raised by Harlem — Chef Jamel came up in the neighborhood that shaped everything. The streets, the people, the culture. The hustle. It's where he learned what community means, and where he'd eventually find his way back to himself.

His culinary journey began at The Culinary Academy of New York, followed by an immersive apprenticeship at Jean-Georges' Mercer Kitchen. His first paid position was at the legendary One If By Land, Two If By Sea — one of New York's most storied dining rooms.

But the chapter that forged him most was the one no kitchen could teach. During four years of incarceration, cooking became his anchor — a reason to focus, to create, to want something more. It wasn't just sustenance. It was salvation.

Today, as Chef de Cuisine at one of NYC most iconic restaurants, Chef Jamel has led his team to the Michelin Bib Gourmand three consecutive years. His food is Northeast regional at its core — drawing inspiration from global cultures, techniques, and flavors.

Chef Sade is the heartbeat behind the experience — supporting Chef Jamel for 10 years with precision, creativity, and care. From prep to presentation, she brings an elevated touch that makes every dish feel intentional, every event feel personal, and every guest feel seen.
